Glenn Murray (2015-current)
Glenn Murray was appointed Concertmaster in February 2015. He has experience as leader or solo violin in most of the major shows that have toured Australia in recent times. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music with Merit and a Masters Degree in Performance from Sydney Conservatorium, where he studied with Harry Curby, Laszlo Kiss and Bogodar Kotorovich. Most recently he has been playing with Camerata of St John’s in Brisbane, after moving from Sydney.
Glenn has been the leader and solo violinist for many musical theatre shows, including Hello Dolly, Crazy for You, Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera and The Lion King. He was leader for My Fair Lady and Showboat, solo violin for Chicago and Annie and led the national and international tour to Hong Kong and Singapore of Singin’ in the Rain, as well as the national tour of Fiddler on the Roof with Topol in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Glenn has led orchestras accompanying international artists from Anthony Warlow to Elvis to the Max, Olivia Newton-John and Michael Crawford. He was also the Australian Co-Concertmaster for Barbra Streisand’s Timeless Australian tour.
Glenn plays an 1879 violin from Vienna made by Thomas Zach.
Julie-Anne O’Reilly (1992-2014)
Julie-Anne O’Reilly was Concertmaster of the Queensland Pops Orchestra from 1992 and celebrated 21 years in that position in March 2013. Julie-Anne’s last performance with the Queensland Pops Orchestra was Best of British 2014.
